From August of 1999 until about December of 2002 I worked both as an employee and on contract for a Finnish software development firm. The firm I originally worked for was called Jydacom Oy. Eventually the online construction project management part of the company split off to form it's own company called Buildercom Oy.
Throughout university I worked for a company local to my hometown Edmonton called Laidley Management. They are a small firm that manages several properties around Edmonton and surrounding areas. They originally came to me to put some excel spreadsheets into a simple database. It was near the end of 1994 at the time and they were running "Windows for Workgroups 3.11" with Microsoft Office 6.0 which included Access 2.0. So that is what the database got written in.
I've proposed several times that the database might need an upgrade, to the current version of Access if nothing else, but everyone at Laidley seems completely happy with it at the moment... even after more than 10 years!
